Istanbul Modern Cinema presents a new program exploring the intersection of music and cinema. The selection features films that turn the camera toward music to tell the lesser-known stories of bands, musicians, and moments that have shaped music history. The program includes Pavements, a documentary about the American indie rock band Pavement; Cologne 75, which traces the story behind Keith Jarrett’s best-selling solo album The Köln Concert; Vibe Istanbul, a journey through the history of club and dance music in Istanbul; Sound Dreams of Istanbul, which explores the connection between improvisational music and dreams; and The Soundtrack of a Coup, named “Best Film” of 2024 by Screen Daily, portraying the 1960 Coup in Congo through the lens of jazz.
