Strictly Necessary Cookies are cookies placed on your device while you view the Site and are required for the website to function properly.

For the data processing activities carried out during the use of these cookies, we rely on the legal grounds under Article 5/2-c of the Law that “processing of personal data belonging to the parties to a contract is necessary, provided that it is directly related to the establishment or performance of the contract” and that “processing of data is necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by the data controller, provided that this processing does not violate the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject.”

D. Types of Cookies Used on the Website

The tables below set out the cookies used on the Site, their providers, types, retention periods, purposes of use and categories.

Your personal data is transferred abroad in accordance with the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding the Transfer of Personal Data Abroad, published in the Official Gazette dated July 10, 2024 and numbered 32598, and applicable legislation, provided that appropriate safeguards are ensured. Necessary technical and administrative measures are taken to ensure that international data transfers are carried out securely.

You may submit your requests concerning your personal data and your rights under Article 11 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law at any time, in accordance with the “Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller,” in writing or by using a registered electronic mail (KEP) address, secure electronic signature, mobile signature, or an email address that you have previously notified to the Museum and that is registered in our systems, using the contact details below.

When submitting applications concerning your rights under the Law, you may use the Data Subject Application Form available on the Istanbul Modern website. Depending on the nature of your request, your application will be concluded free of charge as soon as possible and no later than thirty days.

If processing the request incurs an additional cost, a fee may be charged in accordance with the tariff to be determined by the Turkish Personal Data Protection Board.
