"ÇONA" means "light" in the Laz language. It is also used as a term of endearment, meaning "my dear" or "my love." It is one of K'ai&Vrosi's original designs; it evolved from a wallet into a mini bag with the addition of a chain. It is worth noting that since the *peştamal* (traditional woven cloth) is hand-woven on traditional looms—staying true to its authentic form—the placement of patterns may vary from product to product.
K'ai&Vrosi was founded with the aim of adapting the *peştamal*—a traditional textile whose original purpose is fading and whose master weavers are becoming scarce—into a modern, high-value product that can be passed down through generations. Since 2018, we have been committed to positive discrimination, creating employment opportunities for local producers and—thanks to you—helping them contribute to their local economies. The *peştamal* is more than just a simple cloth; it is a product of immense craftsmanship, involving a laborious process before it even reaches the loom. What makes it truly precious are the artisans who keep the sound of the loom alive and weave these pieces in limited quantities, ensuring the craft does not disappear. The weaving process begins in the Black Sea region, where the fabric is hand-woven—often by housewives or at public education centers—before taking its final form in the hands of our leather artisan in Istanbul. Throughout this journey, we embrace a "slow production" model, free from seasonal pressures, and work with all our stakeholders under fair conditions to deliver these products to you at their true value.
