Istanbul Modern resumes its partnership with the Artists' Film International, a program which showcases videos, animations, and short films by artists from diverse geographical contexts. Initiated in 2008 by the Whitechapel Gallery, the program continues this year with 17 partners from 15 different countries. Since 2024, the program has been coordinated by Forma, a London-based contemporary art institution that challenges conventional practices and aims to develop projects beyond the ordinary, inspired by artists and their ideas.
Each institution in the Artists' Film International network selects a recent work by an artist from their region in response to a common theme determined for that year. This selection of films, which brings together artistic perspectives from across the globe, is presented to audiences in various formats throughout the year by the partner institutions, including exhibitions, screenings, or public programs . Istanbul Modern has participated in the program in the past with videos by Ali Kazma, İnci Eviner, Sefer Memişoğlu, Bengü Karaduman, Burak Delier, Vahap Avşar, Zeyno Pekünlü, Cengiz Tekin, Pelin Kırca, Senem Gökçe Oğultekin, Ergin Çavuşoğlu, and Sena Başöz.
