Turkey, from past to present through the photographs of Sami Güner

January 14, 2014

Part of the Eczacıbaşı Group’s photography publishing tradition with more than 40 years of history, the fourth and last book in the Eczacıbaşı Photographers Series features a broad selection of Sami Güner’s photographs from human landscapes to portraits. Shot from unexpected angles, the photographs reflect various periods and places in Turkey.

In honor of this retrospective book published by the Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı Foundation, a conversation will take place at Istanbul Modern Cinema on January 14, 2014. Merih Akoğul, editor of the Sami Güner retrospective, member of Istanbul Modern Photography Advisory Board, photographer, writer, and lecturer at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, will talk about Sami Güner’s life and photographs. Sami Güner’s daughter, Nazan Ulutekin, and his son, Fuat Güner, will also be in attendance.
