boDig Interprets La La La Human Steps

May 3, 2012

Thursday, May 3, 18.30
Istanbul Modern Temporary Exhibition Hall

Istanbul Modern collaborates with boDig (Initiative for Body Oriented Expressions) to bring body expressions and visual art together for the La La La Human Steps exhibition. With a performance formed site-specifically for the La La La Human Steps exhibition space, boDig creates moments of bodily confrontation between its own viewpoint and some of the installations in the exhibition. The performance conveys conditions of self-destruction, survival, and adaptation through choice and obligation. Instead of extensions to the existing works in the La La La Human Steps exhibition, the individual, temporally ambiguous performances of boDig artists are presented as personal interpretations of the concepts behind these works. These special interpretations will not be repeated and will be available to the viewers in the different locations of Istanbul Modern’s temporary exhibition halls on the lower level.

Concept: Aylin Kalem & Beliz Demircioğlu Cihandide

Interpreters: Beliz Demircioğlu Cihandide, Gülce Oral, Yiğit Daldikler
