İstanbul Modern Cinema is hosting the films of Jafar Panahi, one of the pioneers of Iranian cinema who was sentenced last month to six years in prison and twenty years of silence for opposing the regime. The program will be shown at İstanbul Modern one week before the Berlin Film Festival and consists of five feature-length films including The White Balloon, Panahi’s first film which won the Camera d’Or in Cannes.
