New York at the end of the 70’s, a period when the direction that music would take was unknown. A musical genius emerging in this city and at this time... Composer, cellist, vocalist and dance musician Arthur Russell, who passed away in 1992 of AIDS was not a name well-known in musical circles while he was alive. However, his mass of fans now multiply and increase as his experimental works that laid the foundations of modern dance music together with his incredible numbers of 20 years ago that sound as if they were created yesterday now surface. The film tells with the brilliant narration of the American director Matt Wolf the story of a musical genius who wasn’t appreciated at his time.
