Missiles in the first Iraq war in 1991 were proof of technological superiority. Footage taken from American rocket launchers and which spread to the whole world with the war are examples of a new type of image for Harun Farocki. GPS systems, “intelligent weapons”, and industrially processed units are all based on computational processes in which images are reduced to algorithms and technical operations.
