THROUGH THE OLIVE TREES (ZIRE DARAKHATAN ZEYTON), 1994
Iran, France | HDD, Color, 103’ | Persian
Director: Abbas Kiarostami
Cast: Mohamad Ali Keshavarz, Farhad Kheradmand, Zarifeh Shiva

Through the Olive Trees is like a behind the scenes special for And Life Goes On. In the beginning the director introduces himself to us and then we watch the shooting and auditions of the second film. We see how the scenes which felt like the natural flow of life were designed and how the actors protested. Kiarostami again explores the alchemy between cinema and reality, between the film set and what lies beyond. His trilogy that came into existence organically approaches human nature from a warm and gentle perspective.
