THE PAST

Following the success of the Oscar winning film A Seperation, the Iranian director Asghar Farhadi’s latest filmThe Past follows Ahmad’s return from Tehran to Paris, after four years of separation on the call of his wife to finalize the documents of their divorce. During this short stay, Ahmad realizes the strained relationship his ex-wife has with their daughter Lucie. However, Ahmad’s efforts in rectifying to situation end up with the uncovering of an old, hidden secret. The role of Marie, played by Berenice Bejo in the film, saw her awarded with Best Actress at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
