The Drifter (Eine Flexible Frau)
2009/2010, 85’, DVD
Subtitles: Turkish, English
Director: Tatjana Turanskyj

Greta is a 40-year-old unemployed architect living separately from her husband, the father of her 12-year-old son. She is fired from the call center where she worked out of necessity. She starts drifting through the city and drinking; she is torn between social pressure and her contrariness. She has to hold up against her son on the one hand, and on the other her own paranoia and, as a jobless woman, the fear that she will loose her social status. This slice from the fragile life of a city woman struggling in today’s global, postmodern world is, rather than a story, reminiscent of a journey that defines a contemporary state of mind.
