Gertrudis is grown up in a region where immigrant Jewish families live in Argentina in 19th century. She lives the life of a woman who is found ugly by her family and friends, who finds herself ugly and who therefore tries to be invisible. She gets married. She’s got children. One day, lens of an itinerant photographer whom they host to photograph their family life reflects her in a way that no one else has seen her before.
