Handan, Korhan and their teenage daughter live an ordinary life in a fancy Istanbul neighborhood. Although they seem to lead a happy, comfortable life, each individual has grown isolated and lonely. Nevertheless, rather than a critique of this situation, the film takes a neutral stance. Handan constantly tries to find new occupations to fill the void in her life, and, failing to get the support and attention of her husband, vents her anger by spending money. They secretly compare themselves to another couple who are family friends. In the end, Handan tries to imitate her friend Şermin by trying to become a writer like her. But as her aspiration gradually turns into jealousy, the already fragile balance between the two families is disrupted.
