Director: Pablo Berger

Strong visually as well as dramatically, Snow White brings a new interpretation to the fairy-tale that has been adapted to television and cinema many times lately. This black and white silent movie by Pablo Berger presents a new and challenging interpretation of Grimm Brothers’ story by uniting it with the Spain of 1920’s and bullfighting. The film starts in an arena. A brave Princess accompanied by a wicked queen in laces, a noble bullfighter, poisoned apples, furious bulls and Flamenco… The story of Carmencita who wants to be a bullfighter like her father when she grows up has been inspired by silent motion pictures just like its contemporary The Artist. The film was awarded the “Best Actress” award and Special Jury Prize in the International San Sebastian Film Festival.
