URSULA FERRARA

With her 8 short films, Ursula Ferrara, one of the greatest authors of contemporary Italian animation film will be presented by MedFilm Festival. She is an author in the truest sense of the term, because she creates her drawings and films entirely on her own allowing for both ethical and aesthetical freedom. Her works are impeccable, but thanks to the skilful use of pencils, brushes, oils and transparencies they are also full of metaphors and do not exude the digital coldness typical of computer graphics. Her animation films communicate to the viewer intense emotions, such as the appeal of a fantasy world and the raw vitality of memories, which thrill, amuse and encourage the audience to think. Her short films are spontaneous and direct, but each individual still frame secures a specific moment or event to eternity.
