Scherbenpark, 2013

Director: Bettina Blümner

Color, 91', Bluray
This adaptation of Alina Bronsky's namesake novel, which was a nominee for the Ingeborg Bachman Award and published in Turkey by Ithaki Publications, tells the story of 17-year-old Sascha, who is plotting to take revenge on her stepfather for killing her mother. As we follow Sascha’s coming of age through her efforts to cope with the trauma of this loss and her experience of first love, we get to witness a portrait of characters living on the margins of society. Blümner's film was screened in last year’s Max Ophüls Festival and drew praise for the outstanding performance of its lead star, Jasna Fritzi Bauer.
