Sandy, a geologist, goes on a compulsory trip with Hiromitsu, a Japanese businessman. When they are stranded in the middle of the desert the trip turns into a journey that drags them both outside their mental maps leaving neither of them capable of going back to where they started from. Japanese Story is a road movie about a love story that begins with misunderstandings and contempt against the background of the magnificent Australian desert landscape.
