When American pilots took aerial photographs of a synthetic rubber plant in 1944 they did not know that they were also photographing Auschwitz concentration camp. It was not before 1977 that the photos were properly verified. The film concentrates on subjects such as photography, the use of pictures, and how the impact of war appears in reality. An essay film on the relation between perception and industrial production.
