An adolescent girl whose family has decided she must die; a documentary filmmaker trying to record the incident; and a bloody pursuit… Ali, who has been living in Germany for five years, finds out from a documentary about honor killings that he watches by chance that his niece Zühre he thought he had killed five years ago is still alive, so he sets out to finish the job. This drama, which breaks the rules of the classical storyline, treats of honor killings without resorting to sentimentalism. Through a stylized and engrossing cinematic language Hidden Faces conveys a social issue using archive footage with a “film within film” formula.
