Director: Aysun Bademsoy
In his 1995 documentary Mädchen am Ball (Girls on the Ball), Bademsoy told the stories of young women of Turkish origin playing football in Berlin. Thirty years later, the director returns to these same women and their daughters, revisiting issues of identity, integration, and belonging. The documentary’s multilayered structure emerges through its subtle reflection on the opportunities the football field offers women as a space of freedom and the pressures faced by later generations, caught between social media, family, and society.
