FRIENDSHIP’S DEATH

FRIENDSHIP’S DEATH
Director: Peter Wollen
1987, In Color, English, 78"
Friendship’s Death is a minimalist film, simply involving just two actors and a theater set. It is directed by Peter Wollen, the British film theorist and director who has contributed to the British Cinema with his innovative films. The movie tells the story of the relation between a journalist called Sullivan who has gone to the Middle East to investigate the war there, and an extraterrestrial who claims that it came to the world for a mission, that is called Friendship. The "android" identity is questioned behind the back-lights of political dynamics. It is a lovely and funny science fiction story.
