Cracks in the Shell / Die Unsichtbare

Christian Schwochow, 2011, 113’

Screened in Turkey for the first time at the Istanbul Film Festival in the “International Competition” section, “Cracks in the Shell” will now be shown once more in the program “Brand New Films from Germany.” The film is about a young woman who is taking acting lessons but is so unimpressive as to go unnoticed both in her private life and on stage, when she receives her first proposal for a lead role. Kaspar, a hard case director, selects Fine for the lead part in his new play in which he will work only with young actors. But in order to bring out the potential he sees in her, at times he seduces and at others humiliates her. “Cracks in the Shell” earned Stine Fischer Christensen, who plays the lead part, the “Best Actress Award” at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
