When independent film director Levent is invited to the Söke Film Festival, his path crosses with Aliye, who works at the hotel. As they observe one another, both around the film industry and within their own everyday realities, an unexpected relationship and understanding develops between them. The film delicately questions the boundaries between life and the processes of filmmaking. Carrying the observational sensibility characteristic of Pelin Esmer’s cinema, And the Rest Will Follow approaches the characters’ search for belonging and their storytelling practices along a permeable line between reality and fiction. The film had its world premiere in the main competition of the 54th International Film Festival Rotterdam.
