A Selection from the Istanbul Modern Collection: First Exhibition

Within the scope of the project realized by Istanbul Modern, Turkey’s first modern and contemporary art museum, and Turkish Airlines, a special selection from Istanbul Modern was displayed in the Turkish Airlines Lounge - Business at Istanbul Airport.

The variety of work on view ranged from early 20th century landscape painting to the abstract paintings of artists searching for a synthesis between eastern and western art in the 1950s. Featuring works that illustrate the place of figure painting in everyday life, the exhibition displayed compositions that interpret the cultural values of Anatolia from a new perspective.
