Good Day Turkey! May 7–14, 2009

İstanbul Modern Cinema presents a selection from 60’s black & white Turkish cinema. In collaboration with Mimar Sinan Cinema-TV Centre, the program focuses on the social realist films of a particular era: The stories will take the audience to a nostalgic journey through old times and space, where to witness a proud İstanbul, miserable peasants, and to listen to oldies-goodies and find an odd comfort that can be only found in those Turkish films.

The program titled “Good Day, Turkey!” will also be welcoming directors and actors as guests such as Halit Refiğ, Duygu Sağıroğlu, Selma Güneri, Göksel Arsoy, Ertem Göreç, Nilüfer Aydan.
