İstanbul Modern Cinema, in collaboration with docİstanbul, presents the ever First Person Film symposium and screening series in Turkey. There will be several screenings alongside a symposium showcasing recent first person films and discussions between filmmakers and theorists as to the meaning and implications of this type of subjective, personal, documentary voice.
The symposium will highlight a range of first person documentary filmmakers: Andrés Di Tella from Argentina with his two films: “Television and Me” (2002) and “Fotografias” (2007); Lebanese artist, curator and critic Rasha Salti, the Palestinian director Kamal Aljafari with his film “The Roof” (2006), Berke Baş with the premier of her “Hush”, alongside a roundtable discussion hosted by directors and scholars such as Berke Baş, Can Candan and Eylem Kaftan…
