Locarno Film Festival in Istanbul

Istanbul Modern Cinema brings a selection of films from the 79th Locarno Film Festival, held in August, to Istanbul for the fourth time. All films from the festival, known as a platform for independent and innovative cinema, will have their Türkiye premiere at Istanbul Modern. This year’s selection includes Revolutionaries Never Die, a documentary drawn from Jocelyne Saab’s archive that traces the Palestinian struggle and cinema’s power to bear witness; the FIPRESCI award-winning Far from the Trees, which follows a sound artist traveling across Peru in search of disappearing languages; and Frank & Louis, the new film by Swiss director Petra Volpe, who won the “Audience Award” at Locarno last year with Night Shift (Heldin), starring Kingsley Ben-Adir and Rob Morgan.
