Based on an original idea by renowned Norwegian writer Jo Nesbø, the series is a political thriller that follows a scenario set in the near future where Norway is occupied by Russia on behalf of the European Union. The newly elected environmentally friendly Norwegian government halts all its production of oil and natural gas in the North Sea. The Russians kidnap the prime minister in an effort to force the government to restore its production. We get to watch the first two episodes of the series, which, although entirely fictional, caused tension in diplomatic relations between Norway and Russia when it was first broadcast.
