The Transformation of Landscape

What is a landscape? What is a scenery? How have artists interpreted their environment and nature?

In this program, children explore the relationship between humans, their environment, and nature through examples from art history. The workshop begins with a short presentation where children interpret how contemporary artists address the topic of landscape, followed by a gallery visit to examine some artworks from the museum's collection. Inspired by the contemporary art examples they interpret, children complete the workshop by creating paintings using collage and watercolor techniques.

Istanbul Modern awards a Participation Certificate to children who participate in at least five of the ten different workshops!
