Sinepark Short Genre Film Festival

Sinepark Short Genre Film Festival December 5, 2013

Istanbul Modern Cinema hosts the seventh Sinepark Short Genre Film Festival organized by Galatasaray University, Center for Research and Applications on Media Studies. 28 finalists were selected from among this year’s 216 short film applicants for Sinepark, the festival for short genre films, and are presented under the categories “Ghost Train” for thrillers, “Laugh Box” for comedies, “Boomerang” for dramas, “Labyrinth” for experimental, and “Clashing Calls” for documentaries.

The 7th Sinepark had 88 short film applicants in the drama categories as against only 12 short comedies. On this matter the festival chooses to give the floor to Can Kılcıoğlu who with his first feature film “Karnaval” grazes the boundaries of drama, melodrama, and comedy.
