Where can I access the content for the Online Screenings?
Istanbul Modern Cinema online screenings are presented on the istanbulmodern.org website. You can access the films on show by clicking on the Current Program option under the Cinema tab on the website.
How can I watch the films?
After selecting the Current Program option under the Cinema tab at www.istanbulmodern.org you can get more information on the films via the individual pages for each film, and register to watch them. Please click on the REGISTER TO WATCH button on the individual page for the film you would like to watch and fill out the registration form. Once registered, you can watch the film using the link and password that will be sent to your e-mail address. For each film you would like to watch, you need to fill out a new form via the relevant page for that film.
The screenings are free of charge, but are limited to capacity and are only accessible for viewers located in Turkey.
When can I access the registration forms for the screenings?
You can register for the film screenings at the time frames specified on the film program.
I have registered for a film but never received the e-mail. What can I do?
Please make sure that you have entered your e-mail address correctly on the registration form. Check your mailbox’s spam/junk folder. If you have not received the e-mail, you can contact us via the email@example.com address. We will respond to your query as soon as possible.
Do the films have subtitles?
Yes, all films are screened in their original language with Turkish subtitles. When you register from our website’s Turkish pages, you will access the films with Turkish subtitles, and if you register via the English pages, you can view the films with English subtitles.
If the original language of the films are not English, you can select to watch them with English subtitles by registering on the English pages of the istanbulmodern.org website.
Can I stop and restart the films?
Once you register, you can watch the film as you wish within the duration of the screening. You may find the screening duration of each film on our screening calendar.
Can I watch the films from outside of Turkey?
Due to copyright rules and legal requirements, screenings are only open to viewers in Turkey.
I am experiencing technical issues. Who can I contact?
Please first check out the suggestions below. If the problem still cannot be resolved, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
• Exit the website, re-enter with your password and start the film.
• Open or close the browser (Chrome, Firefox or Edge).
• Restart your computer.
• Try switching your modem off and then restarting it.
• Make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of your browser.
• Check if there is another program running on the computer or a program that uses Internet bandwidth (downloading).
• Check if there is another device downloading data on your computer network.
• Try a different browser.
• If there is an ad blocker, turn it off. These programs can affect network speed.
