The Shadowless is Ümit Ünal’s adaptation of the Hasan Ali Toptaş novel with the same name, which won the Yunus Nadi Story Award in 1994, and takes place in a village whose location is unknown and where time is frozen in a never-ending spring. It is an unconventional film in that there are no leading roles but a very skilled cast portraying 22 main characters. Inexplicable disappearances and a variety of strange events have been happening in the village. When the barber who had been lost for years suddenly returns, his wife who had been relentlessly waiting for his return disappears. When Güvercin, the most beautiful girl in town disappears, the boy who is interrogated for her disappearance loses his mind. These series of bizarre events that no one can explain will stun the whole village.
