Cast: Mel Gibson, Anthony Hopkins, Daniel Day-Lewis

The Bounty is based on the real events taking place on board of the British Royal Navy ship HMS Bounty during its voyage to Tahiti in 1789. The ship finally reaches Tahiti, after a long and difficult journey in search of breadfruit trees that would be transported to Jamaica. The ship stays on the heavenly tropical island longer than planned and throughout this extended period, the crew gets used to the easy island life and slowly moves away from the discipline associated with the navy. No longer willing to put up with the increasingly authoritarian attitude of the captain, a group led by first mate takes over the control of the ship. While it is the third film that portrays one of the most well known maritime events in history, The Bounty comes to the fore both with its star-filled cast and its technique.
