Hungary |DCP, Color, 107' | Hungarian, Yiddish, German, Russian, Polish

Director: László Nemes

One of the most talked-about films this year, Son of Saul explores the trauma of Saul who is forced by the Nazis to get his fellow Jews to undress, lead them into the gas chambers, burn the corpses in the ovens, and clean the gas chambers. Winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, the film traps the viewer inside the gas chambers and mass graves. Nemes comprehensively depicts the delicate subject of the Holocaust using a subtle cinematic language.
