LABYRINTH OF LIES

LABYRINTH OF LIES (IM LABYRINTH DES SCHWEIGENS), 2014

Germany |DCP, Color, 124' | German

Director: Giulio Ricciarelli

The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, delves into the not-much-heard-of Auschwitz trials that took place in Frankfurt after World War II. In 1958, nobody in Germany wants to remember the National Socialist regime. Johann Radmann, a young prosecutor, comes across documents that can help initiate a trial against SS officers who served in Auschwitz. But when Radmann begins to investigate the case against the will of his superiors, he finds himself in a web of repression and denial. It is nearly impossible to get out of this maze in which everyone is either guilty or involved.
