A drama of women in society a hundred years ago, “Sangue Bleu” is a diva film starring famous Italian actress Francesca Bertini. After her divorce, a rich and noble woman loses both the custody of her child and her livelihood and is forced to work in a cabaret. While on the one hand the film explores subjects such as nobility, class difference, and women’s place in society in Europe before World War I, on the other, it tells about the emotional and social impasse into which motherhood as a universal value thrusts women.

Piano: Daniele Furlati
