Istanbul Contrast

Bringing together designs symbolizing Istanbul by the creators of Dice Kayek, renowned designers Ece and Ayse Ege, the exhibition "Istanbul Contrast" was held at Istanbul Modern with the support of Istanbul 2010 Capital of Culture Agency.

This time in Istanbul, one of the world's most beautiful blends of past and present, Dice Kayek interpreted the modern faces of this magnificent historical city from an opposite angle with its “Istanbul Contrast” collection. The collection presented the contrast of the city’s values through 26 different designs, each garment symbolizing a different vision of Istanbul.

The exhibition featured silhouettes from the magical beauty of the Dolmabahçe Palace in a dress adorned with lace and the wrought iron of the Galata Bridge in a jacket entirely embroidered with metal scales. "Dome", "Dove", "Turkish Delight", "Topkapı", "Tulip", "Haghia Sofia", "Caftan" and "Bosphorus" were few of the dresses that one could encounter.

The Istanbul Contrast” exhibition took place during Istanbul Fashion Week 2010 at Istanbul Modern from 26 August till 19 September 2010. This event was organized by the governmental organization ITKIB (Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters' Associations) in collaboration with IMA (Istanbul Moda Academy) and with the support of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture.
