The two works in the exhibition La La La Human Steps are films with a poetic narrative about the war in Yugoslavia. In the films, both entitled 1395 Days Without Red, we see a young woman making her way through the streets of a city that seems to be deserted. The film centers on the route she takes, known as Sniper Alley during the 1395 days between 1992 and 1996 when Sarajevo was under siege. Set to sublime music played by the Sarajevo Symphony Orchestra, the film is about hope for the future and humankind’s endurance.
Conceived by Anri Sala (Albania) and Šejla Kamerić (Bosnia Herzegovina), the films will be shown for the first time in Turkey at İstanbul Modern for museum visitors on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the exhibition La La La Human Steps.
