Eco Art Lab I Upcycling Workshops With Artists

Weaving Workshop with Fırat Neziroğlu

Sunday, February 25, 2024 | 13.00–16.00 | Eco Art Lab

Capacity: 20 participants

Led by weaving artist Fırat Neziroğlu, the workshop focuses on the art of weaving, dating back to prehistoric times, and delves into personal stories. In addition to the artist's textile productions, the program covers scientific studies on mental and emotional health, emphasizing the physical and spiritual effects of weaving. Within the scope of the program, participants use small weaving looms designed by the artist to experiment with Anatolian weaving techniques and weave their own thoughts, embarking on a journey into themselves.

Upcycling Workshops with Artists

In Istanbul Modern's new museum building, upcycling workshops with artists are organized as part of the Eco Art Lab education program sponsored by Damat Tween. In the upcycling workshops, which focus on topics such as sustainable future, continuity of life for all, and environmental change, together with artists and designers from different fields, participants explore the methods and possibilities of transforming end-of-life items into artistic materials or design products.

The event is free of charge.
