Istanbul Modern Cinema

Two works included in the La La La Human Steps exhibition are films that present a poetic narrative about the Yugoslavian civil war. In the two artworks titled 1395 Days Without Red, a young woman is seen trying to go from one place to another in the street of a seemingly abandoned city. The films center around the route that was named Sniper Alley for 1395 days during the Siege of Sarajevo between 1992-1996, depicting hope for the future and aspiration to persevere with an incredible music score interpreted by the Sarajevo Symphonic Orchestra.

Produced by Anri Sala (Albany) and Šejla Kamerić (Sarajevo) with support by Artangel, the film was shown for the first time in Turkey at Istanbul Modern, available to museum visitors free of charge on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the course of the La La La Human Steps exhibition.
