Bedirhan Dehmen on Performing Arts and
La La La Human Steps

A specialist in the performing arts, dance history, and cultural theory, Bedirhan Dehmen will give a talk on the renowned dance film Amelia by La La La Human Steps, the dance company from which the exhibition La La La Human Steps borrows its title.
Following the screening of Amelia at 16:00, Dehmen will talk about contemporary dance and choreography and with the participation of the audience, comment onthe works of the dance company La La La Human Steps.
Bedirhan Dehmen received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Boğaziçi University, Department of Sociology, and completed his PhD at İstanbul University, Department of Theater Criticism and Dramaturgy. He currently teaches at Koç and Yeditepe Universities on dance history/theory, performing arts, and cultural theory. Dehmen started his dance career with the Boğaziçi University Folklore Club and performed for many years with both the BUFC and Boğaziçi University Performing Arts Ensemble. In recent years he has been choreographing and dancing in local and international independent projects (Mondays in the Sun, Human Writes/İnsan Yazıyor, Tevhid/Birlik/Oneness, Off Course, etc.).
